ONVIF Profile T extends Profile S with H.265/HEVC streaming, motion alarms, on-camera tampering detection, bidirectional audio, and metadata-stream support that lets cameras emit JSON events alongside video. For FI Tech analytics this is the baseline we prefer on greenfield projects: H.265 cuts storage cost roughly 50% versus H.264, and the metadata channel lets the camera offload simple line-cross or zone-intrusion events to the recorder while edge GPUs handle deeper PPE, fall, and behavioral analytics. Profile T conformance is mandatory for cameras integrated into FI Tech smart monitoring deployments after 2024.
